At Childsplay you will be amazed by the 'hidden gems' awaiting your discovery. The Nursery is home to five individual units that are created with the age and development of the children at the centre. You will find the resources, furniture, environment, care and support is key to the capabilities of the children within the unit, which is reviewed and changed to incorporate up to date staff training and children's interests. The staff teams are developed to ensure their training and passion drives the functionality of the unit, in fact we consider the teams to be families rather than staff. Our location provides a city centre Nursery in Newcastle upon Tyne, close to the Universities and the Royal Victoria Infirmary.

Our learning environment
At Childsplay we offer a challenging environment both indoors and outdoors, to allow children to take risks within their capabilities. Your child will lead their own learning at Childsplay and we value their opinions. In observation and reflection of their interests we believe they have the right to participate in the decisions that affect them, therefore their learning and planned activities takes their interests into account and staff are trained and eager to support this. We endeavour to follow in the guidance of our parents to ensure your child thrives during their time and experiences at Childsplay, after all you know your child better than anyone else. We ensure we are listening to the voice of the child, your child... however quiet they may be!
"This may be 'Childsplay' to you, but it's 'play' and the start of a wonderful journey and a valuable lifelong discovery for every individual child".
What makes Childsplay unique?
We feel the closeness of our cooperative members is key to our success. Being part of our cooperative means you have a voice in the operation of the Nursery, it requires the loving dedication and support of all members to provide an enriching experience for all children. Key to its successful operation is the ongoing commitment from our parents and staff, this could be achieved by becoming a member of the Executive Committee or by offering your free time to help in the garden or reading poetry to our children!
